PENSIONERS' SOCIETY

NYHTC pensioners who become Pensioners' Society members participate in various events geared to seniors, including meetings with elected officials to discuss important issues such as Medicare and Social Security. Advice is available to Pensioners' Society members and members nearing retirement on changes in their health insurance benefits, the importance of supplemental health insurance policies (also known as Medigap policies), and how to apply for supplemental health insurance. Assistance in applying for the Reduced Rate MetroCard is also available. Most pensioners who join simply arrange to have their dues withheld from their monthly pension checks. For information, call (212) 245 - 8100 and ask for the Pensioners' Society.
