Hotel conflict right in the middle of high season

A total of 1,216 union employees from four major hotels in Puerto Rico will be protesting against their employers between Thursday and Saturday, for what they consider to be violations of their rights and unfair treatment.

Plans and back-up plans for auctioning of Tavern's assets

While litigation over the ownership of the Tavern on the Green name continues, plans and back-up plans for the auction of its assets, tangible and intangible, are made. At the close to 2009, the LeRoy family, who have run the restaurant since 1976, will begin vacating the space for Central Park Boathouse operator Dean Poll to take over operations.

Auctioning off Tavern on the Green
NYHTC, December 11, 2009 -
The auctioning off of Tavern on the Green's wares, including chandeliers, murals, animal sculptures, and rare wood paneling, is set to begin January 13. The LeRoy family's operating lease on the restaurant expires at the end of this year, and in 2010 Dean Poll, operator of the Central Park Boathouse restaurant, will take over operations.
