If you don't have the right or the practical ability to negotiate, then you don't have any power, and somebody else will make decisions that affect you.

But if you have a union, you have a right that most working people don't have - the right to negotiate a contract with your employer.

And if your union is a strong one, then you have the ability to negotiate a great contract that expands your legal rights, and guarantees you excellent wages, benefits, and working conditions. The Hotel Trades Council is the strongest Union for hotel workers in North America and has the best contracts, by far, in the hotel industry.
